Using disk cleanup to delete temporary files and free up space

Over time your computer will build up temporary files, log files and error files by deleting these you can free up disk space, follow the instructions below and learn how to delete these files.

1. Click the start button

2. Click Run

 

3. Then type: cleanmgr.exe then click OK

4. If there is more than one hard drive or partition installed on your computer you will have to select which one in most cases just select the drive Local Disk C: and then click OK

5. A new window will open up and will start scanning your computer once that has finished you will be presented with a list of check boxes check all the boxes and then click ok read the warning message and click Delete Files to continue, it will take some time to finish.

6. When the program closes you have successfully used disk cleanup.
